“Our mutual objective, as agencies tasked with managing traffic and ensuring road safety, is to guarantee unobstructed vehicular flow and the protection of motorists’ lives. Through closer collaboration, we can achieve greater effectiveness in navigating Lagos’ intricate traffic landscape,” the FRSC Sector Commander stated.

In his response, Mr. Bakare-Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, expressed unwavering commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation with the FRSC. He reaffirmed LASTMA’s dedication to refining traffic operations across Lagos, citing ongoing efforts to enhance the professionalism and operational standards of its personnel.

“LASTMA has implemented robust programmes focused on the continuous training and retraining of its officers. The outcomes are already becoming evident, as seen in the improved conduct and attitudes of our personnel on the roads. We are resolute in working hand-in-hand with the FRSC for the overall benefit of Lagosians”, Mr. Bakare-Oki remarked.

Additionally, Mr. Bakare-Oki highlighted the significant improvements in the response times of LASTMA’s ‘Rescue Team’ during road incidents, attributing this success to the Agency’s new international-standard toll-free call centre (080000527862), which has enhanced public access to timely interventions.
