Exciting times are ahead for Lagos State E-Sports Association as the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission have deepened collaborative relationship with France ESports Association through the French Embassy.
Speaking after a meeting with the France Esports Association and representatives of the French Embassy, Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku averred that Lagos will build E-Sports ecosystem through collaborations with international bodies and countries.
Aiyepeku affirmed the resolve of the state develop the E-Sports and create opportunities for the youth to build careers in the fast growing sector and impact on the economy of Lagos.
Having formalized the gaming sector through the creation of the Lagos State E-Sports Association in March 2021, Aiyepeku stated that the state has demonstrated the leadership role in sports development while commending the E-Sports Association for enhancing the growth through such partnerships with international bodies and countries.
For the Chairman, Lagos State eSports Association, Emmanuel Oyelakin, deepening the relationship with France E-Sports Association and the French Embassy means a lot for the development of E-Sports ecosystem in Lagos State.
President of France E-Sports Association, Désiré KOUSSAWO said it’s equally exciting for the European country to work with the Lagos State where foundation for E-Sports development has been solidified with the commitment and top notch structures put in place by the Lagos State Sports Commission for the sector to thrive.
In her own remarks, French Consulate, Lea Poirier said the partnership will enable the state to build strong collaboration in the long run and attract support from public and private sector to create work opportunities and pathways to success for young people.
Based on the relationship and the level of collaboration, the future of E-Sports is bright not only for Lagos state but indeed Nigeria.
